Begum Akhtar was and Indian singer. He sang Urdu Ghazal Aah ko chahiye ek umr asar hone tak written by Mirza Ghalib. Her name was Akhtari Bai Faizabadi, born on 7th October 1914 and died on 30th October 1974. She was singer of Ghazals, Dadra and Thumri of Indian classical music. She was given title of Malika-e-Ghazal and awarded Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan by Govt. of India. Begum Akhtar also received the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for vocal music. She was born in Uttarpardesh, India. Her father Asghar Hussain was a laywyer.
Mirza Ghalib was a great poet. At the age of thirteen he married with daughter of Nawab IlaHi Bakhsh. His wife name was Umrao Begum. After marriage Mirza Ghalib moved to Delhi with his younger brother, who developed a psychiatric illness known as schizophrenia at a young age and died in Delhi. Mirza Ghalib had an arranged marriage. His all seven child died in infancy. Mirza Ghalib thought that human life is actually an imprisonment. And marriage is second imprisonment.
